Biography
Abdul Basit is a Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet. He completed his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Public Administration in 2021 and his Master’s with Thesis in Public Administration in 2023 from SUST. Before joining SUST as a Lecturer in June 2024, he gained extensive research experience. He worked as a Research Assistant at the SUST Research Centre (2019-2023), the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (2023-2024), and the Ministry of Planning's Social Science Research Council (2022-2024). Additionally, he served as a Technical Officer (Monitoring & Evaluation) at Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) under the USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA) project in early 2024. His research focuses on social accountability, local governance, marginalized public health, gender mainstreaming in health, social power structures, and political consolidation. As an academic recognition, he received the Dean's Award from SUST for his outstanding academic achievements and extracurricular contributions. Beyond academics, he has a deep passion for theater and was actively involved in acting and directing stage dramas during his university years.
